CTRL+ALT+DELirium (2025)

With CTRL+ALT+DELirium, Honey takes a manic plunge into the uncanny valley of nostalgia, technology, and psychological disarray. A wide-eyed clown (equal parts gleeful and unhinged) holds a vintage Macintosh, its screen displaying a hypnotic spiral with a surveilling eye at its center. The background warps into black-and-white chaos, destabilizing any sense of safe ground.

This piece pokes fun at the absurdity of control in the digital age. It’s playful on the surface, but underneath the candy-colored ruffles and slapstick smile lurks the unsettling truth of a world constantly watched, overstimulated, and teetering on the edge of breakdown. The presence of a fly perched on the computer adds an extra note of agitation… a glitch in the circus, a buzzing reminder of decay.

Created specifically for The Hive Gallery’s June 2025 show, this piece leans into the cheeky and surreal, offering a garish yet pointed reminder: sometimes the system needs a forced reboot.
